On May 3, 2023, The American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC) issued an alert bulletin to its subscribers entitled Trends in State Legislation Against Gender-Affirming Health Care. The alert confirms the APSAC’s involvement in the cancerous push toward child mutilation and hormonal interference.

In the issue, the APSAC warns that many states are considering child-protective legislation intending to ban or restrict “gender-affirming healthcare” for transgender and gender-diverse youth. The alert disavows legislation protecting minors, asserting that the reasoning behind these bills is flawed. They claim that minors deprived of “gender-affirming care” are victims of medical neglect and maltreatment.

Furthermore, the bulletin prompts professionals in child protection fields to “explain how gender-affirming care is not child maltreatment” and to “participate in the public discussion” supporting this care with other advocacy groups, including the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

The APSAC was an influential leader among organizations promoting child protection but has abandoned its mission to prevent child abuse. Now that the nonprofit is a prominent voice in promoting child mutilation and hormonal interference, it is time to vote with our dollars. Donations to the APSAC and AAP must end until policies supporting the abuse of troubled minors are revised to prevent such ruinous practices.
